CREATING AWARENESS concert

The Dining Room Mission is a community meal and support service for struggling families and homeless people, especially in the City of Maroondah. The aim of the annual “Creating Awareness Concert” is to highlight the distressing reality and increasing risk of homelessness in our own suburbs. The ultimate goal of The Dining Room Mission is to create a social climate where poverty and homelessness are seen as utterly unacceptable.

In 2012 the concert featured the internationally acclaimed, multi-award winning The Idea of North, the extraordinary singing talents of the award winning Victorian group Harambee and the versatile Opus21 Big Band .

The 2013 concert showcased the dynamic and versatile Victoria Police Showband and the extraordinary singing talents Lisa Dittrich.

In 2014 the Swing Sisters brought the nostalgia of the 40’s and 50’s and the sweet harmonies of the 60’s to our annual concert, and they were joined by students from the Luther College Soul Band playing music from the Soul/RnB and Rock genres.

In 2015 the concert featured the energetic Melbourne Singers of Gospel and the versatile Luther College Show Band.
